Classic Non-Album Cuts: Nas

2pac-nas-squashed-beef

The formerly Nasty Nas made a name for himself as a featured artist.

Kicking off Main Source’s “Live at the Barbeque,” he announced his arrival to the world of Hip Hop and has been blessing guest verses and soundtracks ever since (including his epic run in 1995 when he was added vocals to four classics – AZ’s “Mo Money Mo Muder [Homicide],” Mobb Deep’s “Eye for a Eye [Your Beef Is Mines],” Kool G. Rap’s “Fast Life,” and Raekwon’s “Verbal Intercourse”).

As he has transitioned from a young hungry street lyricist to a star to an elder statesman, he’s continued to work with a variety of artists, even those that were still in diapers when Nas was in the studio. It is a long and varied list and I only included the best tracks.

Escobar season has once again returned…
