Ruben is a life-long Hip Hop fan who was introduced to the culture in the early 90s by his father through the likes of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Too Short and others. As he grew older, he learned about non-West Coast MCs, where he deepened his knowledge and love for a diverse range of Hip Hop subgenres. When he’s not digging through crates or discussing Hip Hop on his Twitter account (@checktherhyme1), he works full time in the non-profit sector.
