David F. Mewa is a committed video artisan who has traveled coast to coast for his craft. His credits include HGTV lifestyle television, spots for HBO.com and L’Oreal Paris, and captivating music videos for major label and indie artists.
In 2009 David received his first MMVA award nomination for “Best Rap video”. In 2012 he accepted Canada’s STYLUS award for “Video Of the Year” as well as the “Best Music Video” honor at the LOS ANGELES ARTHOUSE FILM FEST. He has worked with legendary Hip-Hop artists, the likes of RZA (Wu Tang Clan) and MAESTRO. He has directed music videos for popular music acts like SIMPLE PLAN, MIA MARTINA, SHAWN DESMAN and USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker). He has also crafted videos for some of the industry’s most buzzed about newcomers including RICH KIDD and MANDIA.
In 2013 David launched a half-hour music program on Canada’s national broadcaster. CBC Music ‘Backstage Pass’ is a weekly music show that is produced in Toronto. It has run 2 seasons (55 episodes) and marks a high point of Mewa’s ascending professional career.
